Saving Money In These Difficult Times

By Aydan Corkern

Sometimes the easiest way to save some money is to buy something new. What we mean is this. Say you have an older car and it keeps breaking down. All of the money you keep sinking into this older car could have been saved if you had just gone out and bought a new one. Anyone that has had to go and try to buy used parts for a car or truck that might not be older than 10 years knows this. These parts will cost you a bunch of money if you can find them used. If you can’t, then you have to go to the dealership and these parts will cost you almost double.

We also know that in these hard times, doing this is almost impossible. With so many people losing their jobs and their way of life, buying anything new is out of the question. Most of us are just trying to keep what we have. The best thing to do at this time is to go over all of the things that you now have and start cutting out the things that you can do without. We need to make sure that we have enough to eat, a place to live, clothes to wear, and a car with enough gas to get back and forth to work or school. This does not mean just your automobile. It can be for almost everything that you might use everyday.

But buying everything new will keep you from having to pay for expensive repairs because all of these repair costs are not cheap. So, the concept of buying new will help you save money is true as you will not have the repair costs eating up your hard earned money. When you buy a new home, you do not have the headaches that you might have in buying an older home. It is all new so you know that you should not have any repairs or problems at least for a few years. We all need to begin to change the way we do things just like the new government is trying to change the way our government is being run.

If it means paying for all of our things with cash and getting away from credit cards, then try. If you want to and have the place for a garden, start this spring planting a vegetable garden to keep from having to spend so much at the grocery store. Even putting in a couple of plants of each of the vegetables you and your family like will save you some extra money. If you do not have the room but you would like to try this idea, you might try to find someone that has a garden and ask them if you can help in the care of this garden for some of the vegetables when they ripen.
